The incident happened at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
SCPD said officers tried to pull over a black Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV that had just left a known drug location in the area of Sunrise Highway and Bayview Avenue in Amityville.
The Mercedes fled from police and struck a Subaru on County Line Road and Francine Avenue in North Amityville, according to the report.
The driver of the Subaru was not injured, authorities said.
Police said the Mercedes then struck a Wheatley Heights woman on South 18th Street in Wyandanch and fled the scene.
The woman was hospitalized with serious injuries, SCPD said.
Authorities said the Mercedes was occupied by at least two men and had a temporary Florida license plate of 10DEMT. Police also later determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of New York City.
A responding unmarked police vehicle, which had emergency lights activated, then collided with an uninvolved Mazda while traveling north on Straight Path near Washington Avenue, police said.
SCPD said the Mazda made a left turn in front of the police vehicle, causing both vehicles to overturn.
The driver of the Mazda, a 45-year-old Huntington Station woman, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and the four officers in the unmarked vehicle were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police reported.
